Movie Night

Boone went golfing with his brother this evening after I spent the day school shopping with Maddie. It was just me and the kids, so we had a movie night. Maddie was so excited that I let Easton & Kenzie stay up for the event. We watched "A Shark's Tale." Madison picked this movie because she thought it would be scary. Ever since we told her she couldn't watch E.T. because it was too scary for little girls, she has been obsessed. She asks almost every day to watch it. So, knowing that this movie was a comedy, I went along with it.

Watching a movie with three kids under the age of four is very um.....shall we say amusing? Maddie sat in the middle of the couch with her Zip-loc bag of pretzels with strict instructions to share her snacks. I only did this because if Kenzie has a bag of snacks, Easton throws a fit to have one and "Big Man" inhales his bag of snacks which is hazardous! So, the movie went something like this:

Kenzie: "Shark, mommy!" "Oh, big shark!" "Look, mommy did you see that?" "Snacks Maddie, more snacks, more snacks!" (If you've been around Kenzie at all you know how animated she is!)

Maddie: Ignoring everyone around her.

Easton: "UGH" "UUGH, UUUUGH, UGH." (If you've been around Easton, you know and recognize his grunting in place of words!) He grunts this and points at Maddie's Zip-loc bag.

Mom: "Um...hey Maddie share your snacks." "Maddie?" "Maddie?" (I grab the bag and distribute snacks.) "Why don't we call daddy and see what time he is coming home."

Maddie: "EVERYBODY, QUIET!"

This scenario continues for far too long until Maddie speaks up and says, "Mom, I think it's dark and Kenzie needs to go to her crib, and Easton too." (Her excitement for them to watch the movie didn't last long.)

It was a memorable night and I even remembered to snap a few photos.

How fun! I'm glad that you even tried to have a movie night. We haven't attempted that with Caleb yet. Your kids are adorable and it's so fun to see them grow up.

Okay, I hi-jacked Jaime's blog after I saw your name. You are still as cute and adorable as ever! Your kids are beautiful and you have the cutest family! I saw Boone's mom at my grandma's viewing and asked about you. I am so glad to hear that you're doing well! You totally deserve it, I think you're wonderful! You must be a patient mom! My (2) kids beg me to watch movies with them and I last about 44 seconds before I have to bolt cuz there are too many questions and they end up RIGHT on top of me!
What a cute little bunch! I bet Boone was bummed he missed it!
